Disability Football Coaching Day & Launch Event

Please accept this invitation to join us for the launch of an exciting new development for footballers with a disability across Nottinghamshire.

Following the Nottinghamshire Disability Football Focus Group’s successful application to the Sport Nottinghamshire’s Sport Unlimited initiative, we have been awarded additional funding to work with 7 FA Charter Standard Community Clubs across Nottinghamshire to develop more sustainable opportunities for players with a disability to access regular ‘Pan-Disability’ football opportunities. ‘Pan-Disability’ covers ambulant players with a disability, regrettably due to the difference in match format and Health & Safety issues, Pan-Disability football cannot cater for Wheelchair users and B1 (totally Blind) players.

The aim is to develop a ‘Focus Club’ in each District who will, following this launch event, begin to run regular football sessions for players with a disability in their district. The 7 Clubs, who will be represented on the day are, Bingham Town FC, Priory Celtic FC, Southwell United, Calverton Miners Welfare FC, FC Interski, Welbeck Welfare FC & Ordsall Rangers.

The day will consist of each club running a skills activity and game of their choice and groups of players rotating around the activities over the course of the morning. In the clubhouse there will be a range of information available on the football opportunities available to players with a disability in Nottinghamshire alongside this information these will also be an opportunity for parents to speak to club representatives and Nottinghamshire Football Association Staff about the development.
