Comic Relief Funding
Comic Relief have announced they will fund sports projects that look to address other social issues, e.g. crime, anti-social behaviour, substance misuse and community cohesion. For more information, visit www.comicrelief.com.
Sport England Funding
Sport England released their Funding Sport in the Community Strategy in January 2009. As a direct result of this strategy, a number of different funding streams are now available:
- Themed Rounds - £30million per year invested in specific areas
- Small Grants - Grants of between £300 and £10,000 will be provided to support sport in communities
- Innovation Fund - Funding will be provided to a limited number of large projects to test out new ideas which could have wide application
- Sportsmatch - Between £500 and £100,000 will be provided to clubs and other organisations that need Sport England grants to bring in other funding
