
Sport Unlimited

Introduction
Sport Nottinghamshire has been allocated in the region of £250,000 for Sport Unlimited projects across the City of Nottingham and County of Nottinghamshire from April 2010 - March 2011.
We want to make sure this money is distributed across the county to a large number of different projects and we will try to make this process as easy as possible.
Sport Unlimited - What is it?
Sport Unlimited is a £36m scheme which aims to encourage more children and young people aged 5-19 to play sport.
Sport Unlimited will provide funding for up to 10 weeks of activities and can be accessed by a wide range of bodies including sports clubs, youth clubs, private sector companies, community groups, schools, local authorities and uniformed organisations.
Sport Unlimited key requirements:
- Projects should focus on prociding opportunities for the 'semi sporty' population - estimated to be 50% of young people - currently doing 2-3 hours per week
- Projects will be delivered of school hours and in variety of settings
- Focus on high quality, attractive provision with robust safeguarding standards
- Encourage young people to participate regularly in sport
