World class sporting events in Nottingham
Enjoy world class events at venues like Trent Bridge, the City Ground, the National Ice Centre, Nottingham Racecourse, the National Water Sports Centre and Nottingham Tennis Centre.

City of Nottingham Tennis Centre
- host to international tennis, The Aegon Trophy and the Nottingham Tennis Masters.

The British Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships
Nottingham
- the City of Nottingham Tennis Centre has also hosted the British Open championships. It's one of four tournaments on the global NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour to have Super Series status - the equivalent of a Grand Slam.

National Relay Championships, Holme Pierrepont
- one of the most exhilarating and fun events on the UK athletics calendar, the relays revolve around teams of four.  Using a tagging format where everyone swims, bikes and runs, it's a race that looks like a mixture between competition and chaos.  A 500m swim, 15km bike and 5km run, any four triathletes can get together and race in one of the team categories available.  British Triathlon National Honours are up for grabs for the more serious competitors.

Nottingham Triathlon, Holme Pierrepont
- the National Water Sports Centre provides a fantastic course for the 500 competitors to tackle the 750m swim - 20km bike - 5km run. With a grandstand, blaring PA and great atmosphere, the crowd gets to watch every move made by the athletes. It's as close to racing a triathlon in an arena as you can get.  The longer distances offer the opportunity for tactics and strategy, and the bike and run course are both perfectly flat.

Great Notts Bike Ride, June
 - four different types of rides all of which start and finish at the National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont.  100 mile ride - a sportive route for the more serious cyclist; a 50 mile ride - a challenge ride that goes to Newark before looping back to Holme Pierrepont and an 18 mile ride - a community ride and the lap challenge - a ride for young cyclists on a closed circuit around Holme Pierrepont.

Experian Robin Hood Festival of Running, September
 - the festival returns with events to suit all ages and abilities.  The aim of the event is to encourage more people to get involved and get fit.  Download an entry form the Experian festival of running website.  So come along, take part in a marathon, challenge, or simply enjoy the carnival atmosphere.
