Get Active

Get involved in Walk Week this May, taking place between the 17th and 26th, and help celebrate walks in Nottinghamshire, get fit and enjoy a range of activities throughout the week. It’s free to take part, and every participant will receive a free gift and details of future events to encourage walking in the future.

Try your hand at Nordic walking, rambling, leisure walks, or if you’re a new mum, get back into fitness and shape by attending a ‘Pushy Mothers’ taster session. The events are aimed at all ages.

On Wednesday there is a walk to work day, ‘Walk on Wednesday’, which encourages walking as a way of building exercise into our busy daily lives, and encouraging a healthy workforce. It’s been proved that fitter employees take less sickness absence and have lower levels of stress.  By encouraging walking to the workplace, companies can also free up car parking spaces, and help save the environment.
