Do you know about Dance4?

Sport Nottinghamshire

Dance4 has a strategic role for dance development across the East Midlands working with a range of partners, venues and individuals to create exciting opportunities to bring dance artists and communities together.  Their artists programmes include residencies, research, performances and the biennial Nottdance Festival.

Their regional work for children and young people’s dance includes U-Dance platforms supporting young people from across the region to perform and they also have a Centre For Advanced Training (CAT) which nurtures aspiring, talented young dancers.

In 2012 Dance4 is also lead for the region’s Big Dance Hub partnership, part of the official Cultural Olympiad, which will feature exciting dance events open to anyone during 2012.

Short Film investigating what drives local athletes

Just one of the many activities they have been involved with lately includes working with Film Maker Matt Taylor to produce an online film called 'Don't look up The Hill, Keep Looking At the Ground' which  questions the drive and physical limits of runners and triathletes from across the East Midlands.

It sounds like a fascinating concept - you can view the film online at http://www.dance4.co.uk/ between Monday 10 September 2012  at 8:12pm (2012 in 24hr time) and Friday 21 September 2012 8:12pm
