Nottingham and Nottinghamshire’s Physical Activity and Sport Strategy for 2017-2021

We would like to invite you to an event on Thursday 7th September 2017, 9:30am to 1:30pm at Nottingham Trent University, Pavilion Building, Clifton Campus, Clifton Lane, Nottingham, NG11 8NS to share your views and help create a shared Physical Activity and Sport Strategy for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

If we are to reduce levels of inactivity within our patch and respond to the challenges set out within the Government Strategy and Sport England’s ‘Towards an Active Nation’, we need to see change at all levels and across different sectors.

Over the last year we have been analysing and discussing the data and insight available to us on physical activity behaviours in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire in order to develop a customer focused, insight led strategy.

We believe a collective response that builds a consistent message and way of working, thatcreates sustainable behaviour change across our local communities will have the greatest impact on the outcomes we are all seeking from physical activity: physical health, mental health, individual development, social and community development and economic development.

We are asking our traditional partners from sport and physical activity, together with those we have started to work with more recently, from: health, active travel, the voluntary sector, and community groups, to come together and be part of this exciting time of change.

If these outcomes are important to you, this is your opportunity to input and influence future priorities for Notts and shape how we can work together to tackle inactivity and enable more active lives within our communities.

We would love for you to be able to join us.

Many thanks and kind regards

Ilana Freestone

Director, Sport Nottinghamshire
